Neopets Word Poker

Ok, so, you've all read my sponser game guides, such as Hilary Duff: Matching, Benchwarmers, and, of course, all of the Disney ones.

Well, I decided that it was high time for me to do a guide on a normal game. My first choice?? Word Poker...two things that go together so very well......NOT!!!!

Since you can't look during the game to see how to get what, i'm going to post it here for referance purposes.

3, 4, 5 letter words: That should be obvious.
Flush: Words starting with the same letter.
Full House: 15 or more total words. (this is the one i almost always get a 0 on)
Wild: Points for each word found, more points for longer words.

You're going to see big numbers on Flush and Wild, don't automatically go for them, unless your other numbers really bite.

There's a trick to word poker, and it's one that I only recently really figgered out. Don't automatically go for the wild spot, as you'll be able to really cash out on it if you happen to trigger a lot of words.

After a little bit of searching, I found a little tid bit of a website that really helped me boost my score on Word Poker.

Adam's Anagram Solver (I tried to find an email for this person to commend him on a wonderful job with this program, but was unable to do so.)

It takes up to 12 letters, but word poker only pops out 8, so no worries there.

Editors Note: You must have Java Workshop up to date. Not sure about which actual version, as the website doesn't say (protO).

There is one downside to the anagram solver....not all the things that pop up in it are actual words, and not all the words are in neopets' dictionary. If you come across a word that is real, but not in neopets' dictionary, please, submit it to them so they can add it. I'm getting sick of words like CONK and COIF not going in, but CONKED and COIFS does.

One thing that I just recently discovered. It does pay to have the sound turned up on this particular game, as there's 3 different types of sounds that will occur when you click the GO button. There's the buzzer, signifying a bad word(one not in their dictionary, not necessarily a word that doesn't exist), a Ding, signifying a good word(one in the dictionary), and a chime, signifying a REALLY good word. Really good words are ones you want to write down, remember, type into notepad, or whatever so that you remember in the future. Those are the big money makers....big point givers. Perfect Examples of these are any type of Neopets related words....Nerkmid, Dung, Nova. There are lots of them out there, you just have to take the time to listen for them. As always, Have Fun :)
